R.I.P Karl Lagerfeld
It is with deep sadness that the House of CHANEL announced the passing of Karl Lagerfeld, the Creative Director for the CHANEL Fashion House, February 19, 2019 at the age of 85.
Karl Otto Lagerfeld was born September 10th, 1933 in Hamburg Germany.
The designer, the creative director for CHANEL and Fendi, was one of the industry's most iconic figures. He was able to showcase one last collection at Couture Fashion Week in Paris but
unfortunately was not in attendance for the show.
The big question is with Lagerfeld's death, who will take over the fashion throne?
CHANEL has not indicated when or even if it will replace him. For now, his right have Virginie Viard of 30 years, director of CHANEL's Fashion Creation Studio, has been entrusted by Alain Wertheimer with the creative work for the collections, allowing the legacy of
Gabrielle Chanel and Karl Lagerfeld to live on.
The truth is Karl is simply irreplaceable.
Thank you for the memories, the inspiration and iconic style.
You will always be a Fashion Icon and a Fashion God!
